THE RUNDOWN
SAN FRANCISCO –
The University of San Francisco women's soccer team will host BYU and San Diego in the final weekend of the 2017 season.  Saturday's contest against San Diego will be senior day, with the Dons saying farewell to four incredible athletes.

USF (6-10-2/2-5 WCC) is coming off a 2-0 loss at the hands of Santa Clara last Friday.  The shutout put an end to the Dons hot scoring outburst over previous four games, in which USF averaged 2.5 goals per game.

This season, the friendly confines of Negoesco Stadium have been a little chillier than usual.  USF is just 2-3-2 at home, and are 0-2 in WCC play.  Statistically, USF is playing the same brand of ball home or away.  On the road the Dons average 13 shots a game, and 1.17 goals per contest.  At home, the Dons are averaging 14 shots per game, but the ball just isn't finding the back of the net.  USF has been held to on goal or less in five of the seven home contests.

Saturday's contest against San Diego will be senior day, where USF will honor the four seniors: Camille Wilson, Maddy Glaser, Allison Arriola and Sonja Giraud in a pre-game ceremony.

BYU (7-6-4/4-2-1 WCC) enters Thursday's contest on a hot-streak.  The Cougars are unbeaten in their last three games and have won four of their last six games.  Last weekend, BYU went 2-0 after beating Gonzaga 6-3 and Portland 1-0.  As a team, the Cougars average 1.65 goals per game and boast a .421 shots on goal percentage.  Senior forward Madie Mathews leads the team in goals with seven.  While senior keeper Hannah Clark leads the team with 58 saves.

San Diego (8-9/6-1 WCC) is tied for second in the WCC.  USD has had an interesting year in the win/loss column.  The Toreros started the year losing eight of their first nine games before winning seven of their last eight.  The lone blemish during that stretch a 3-0 loss at the hands of No. 13 Pepperdine.  Last weekend, USD went 2-0 with road wins over Portland and Gonzaga.  USD's leading scorer is Summer Mason who has nine goals, she is followed by Kelsi Dantu's six.  In goal is Amber Michel who has 88 saves on the season and boasts a 1.51 goals against average.
