Heading South to San Jose State

THE RUNDOWN
SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team is set to depart from the Hilltop, headed a few hours down south to San Jose, Calif. The Dons (2-4, 0-0) will take on the San Jose State Spartans (2-4, 0-0) from the Mountain West Conference on Friday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
USF is coming off a competitive game against No. 16 Stanford. Although the short-staffed Dons opened the first quarter ahead 19-12 and led at half, the Cardinal shot lights out to eventually open up a 20-point gap by the fourth quarter. Coach Goodenbour took a 66-86 loss to her alma mater and former head coach, Tara VanDerveer.
The Dons were able to take away the best from the tough match up with the Palo Alto visitors. They were able to execute their game plan and find a rhythm, even though the rotation only included eight players (due to injuries).
On the opposite side of the floor, the Spartans most recently defeated the Santa Clara Broncos, 71-66, in an overtime contest on Wednesday evening.
