THE RUNDOWN
SAN FRANCISCO – The University of women's basketball team is set for another road trip, this time they are headed north towards Davis, Calif. to take on one of the remaining 15 undefeated teams in the nation.
UC Davis (7-0, 0-0) are starting off their season on a program-high mark, 7-0. The Aggies are also on a winning streak at The Pavilion dating back to last season, improving to 4-0 on Bob Hamilton Court in 2017-18 and clinching their 10th consecutive win on their home floor.
The Dons (3-4, 0-0) are coming off a big win against San Jose State. In a game that saw 12 ties and 14 lead changes, USF was able to gut it out and take home an 87-81 victory. The Dons found season-highs in points scored (87), points scored in second half (45) and points in the paint (52). Also for the first time in the 2017-18 campaign, five Dons registered in double-digit scoring.
Both the Aggies and Dons competed against Washington State. USF fell to the Cougars, while UC Davis defeated them.
The stage is set in what could potentially a great scouting trip and benchmark for the Dons as the Aggies have already taken on two WCC opponents, Pacific (4-3, 0-0) and Pepperdine (4-3, 0-0).
