The Rundown
SAN FRANCISCO - The University of San Francisco Dons baseball's (27-28) fell in game two of their three-game series to Kansas State (23-30), 5-1.

After two scoreless innings for both teams, it would be the Dons to get scoring started in the home half of the third inning. RJ Cordeiro would lead-off the inning with a single into right field. The next batter, Matt Campos, would slap a ground ball through the right side, with Cordeiro advancing to third on the play having been attempting to steal. Thomas McCarthy would come up and lay a bunt down the first base line, allowing Cordeiro to score on the play and giving USF an early 1-0 lead.

Riley Ornido would throw five scoreless innings before Kansas State would take the lead in the top half of the sixth. The Wildcats would get the first two batters of the inning on with a single and a walk. A bunt would move the runners to second and third with one-out. Kansas State's lead-off batter, Will Brennan, would hit a ground ball through the right side of the infield, scoring the runner from third. The next run of the inning would come on a wild pitch, which came on ball four of a walk. With two-outs in the inning, Kansas State's Cam Thompson would line a single into left field, bringing in the runner from third base to make it 3-1, Wildcats, after six innings.

Kansas State would score two more in the eighth inning with two-outs. With runners on first and second, Scott Parker would come in for Daniel Slominski, to face the left-handed batter, Trent McMaster. The Wildcats' senior would hit a double over the head of USF left-fielder, Jonathan Allen, scoring two on the play to make it 5-1, Kansas State.

The five runs in the final four innings would be enough for Kansas State to earn the win in game two of this three-game series.
