SAN FRANCISCO - The University of San Francisco Dons baseball's (28-28) capped off their regular season finale with a win, beating Kansas State (23-31), 7-5.

USF would take an early lead in the first inning with a senior making a big contribution in his final home game as a Don. With the first two batters reaching base safely,
Michael Perri would step up and launch his ninth home run of the season into the netting in left field to give USF a 3-0 lead.

The Dons would add another run in the home half of the third inning through another big time hit from a senior. With two-outs,
Ross Puskarich would hit another no-doubter over the wall in left field and into the netting to push the USF lead to 4-0 after three innings.

Following another shutout inning from USF's starting pitcher,
Landen Bourassa, the Dons would add their fifth run of the afternoon in home half of the fifth inning.
Riley Helland would lead-off the inning with a double into right center field. Helland would move to third on a ground out from Puskarich, bringing up
Brady Bate who would hit a fly ball to right field that would be deep enough to bring Helland in from third.

Kansas State would cut the Dons lead to one run in the sixth inning. Will Brennan would reach on a throwing error from Perri with one-out, which was followed by a single through the right side of the infield. After a ground ball to Puskarich at first would get the second out of the inning, Bourassa would walk the next better to load the bases. Kansas State's Trent McMaster would hit an opposite field grand slam to pull the Wildcats within one, 5-4.

In the home half of the sixth,
Nick Yovetich would lead-off the inning with a triple over the head of the Kansas State center fielder.
Aaron Ping would come up next and drive in Yovetich from third on a sacrifice fly to center field to push the USF lead to two, 6-4.

After Kansas State would cut the Dons lead to one with a run in the top half of the seventh, USF would come out and move the lead back to two runs. With two outs and a runner on first, Yovetich would hit his second triple of the day and bring Puskarich around to score to bring the USF lead to 7-5.

Brendan Jenkins would come to get the final six outs of the game, throwing two perfect innings to earn his 10th save of the season.

The Dons finish the regular season at 28-28 on the year and will await their seeding for the West Coast Conference Tournament with one spot in the tournament left to play for this weekend.

- All four position playing seniors drove in a run today with Perri driving in three, while Puskarich, Bate and Ping all drove in a run, as well.
- Perri's three-run home run was his ninth of the year and moves his team-leading total in RBIs to 44.
