
WSOC | Dons Fall In Tough Match To Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA — The University of San Francisco's women's soccer team fell in an aggressive match to Oklahoma University, 4-1, on Friday night at John Crain Field.
Oklahoma's Ivanna Rivas opened the match with a goal at the 15th minute to lead 1-0, as San Francisco worked its offense as best as they could recording six different shot attempts in the first half.
Miciah Madison started the second half for the Dons aggressively as she recorded three quick shot attempts with two of those being back-to-back, but the Sooners found their way past the Dons defense by striking another goal at the 66th minute to lead 2-0. Just minutes later, San Francisco was called up for a penalty kick that was shot and scored by Ashley Humphrey for her second goal of the season, trailing Oklahoma 2-1. Both teams combined a total of five fouls from the 71st to the 74th mark with two of those being yellow cards from the Dons and the Sooners.
At the 79th minute, Oklahoma extended its lead as mid-fielder Kaylee Dao scored the Sooners third goal of the game. The Dons recorded only one shot attempt in the last 10 minutes of play, but at the 82nd mark forward Rivas started and ended the game with another goal to seal the Sooners victory, 4-1.
