WHATS THE STORY
• The Dons enter this week 3-1-0 after posting a 3-0 week with back-to-back shutout wins over San Diego State and Illinois. USF's three-game winning streak matches their longest streak since they took three in a row from Aug. 26 to Sep. 2 last year when they defeated Harvard, UC Santa Barbara and New Mexico all at home.

• In the latest USCA Coaches' Poll, the Dons are receiving exactly one vote. The vote is significant because it is the first time in the poll's 24 year history that USF has received a vote. The Dons are one of three WCC teams in the poll, BYU is ranked 10th in the nation with Pepperdine also receiving votes.

• Senior Olivia Camera was named the WCC Player of the Week following a 3-0-0 week with back-to-back clean sheets.  For the year, Camera has a 0.99 goals against average and 22 saves.  The 22 saves by Camera is tops in the WCC, and 31st in the nation.  It is the second time in Camera's career she has earned player of the week honors, the other time came on Aug. 27, 2017 when she helped shutout then sixth-ranked Cal and held Cal Poly scoreless in a 0-0 tie.

• USF's 3-0 win over Illinois gives the Dons back-to-back shutout victories for the first time since USF blanked Sacramento State and Hawaii in back-to-back games Sep. 14-16, 2018, with both of those games coming at Negoesco Stadium.  The last time USF posted back-to-back shutouts at away or at a neutral site happened Sep. 7 and 12, 2014 when the Dons defeated Boston University 1-0 in Boston and followed that up with a road win over UC Davis1-0 at Davis.

•New blood:  In back-to-back contests, the Dons had two players score their first career goals.  Junior Sydney Cooper notched her first collegiate goal on a PK in the win over the Aztecs. On Sunday, freshman Keely Roy scored her first goal, the first of three by USF, against Illinois.  Cooper scored her second of the season later that game.

• First Half Goals:  In the win over Illinois, USF finally got on the board in the first half.  USF had been limited scoreless in the first period in the first three contests.  Roy ended that streak with a goal in the 22nd minute, Cooper added a second goal eight minutes later.
  •  Defensively, the Dons still haven't allowed a team to score in the first half.

• Shooters Shoot: Senior Miciah Madison is leading USF with 11 shots this season, eight on goal for a .727 shots on goal percentage.  Her 11 shots is tied for fifth most in the WCC.  USF is averaging just 9.50 shots per came which ranks seventh in the WCC.

• Jehnings In Good Company:  Senior forward Samantha Jehnings recorded her 27th career goal in the win over Illinois on Sunday.  The 27 goals is one shy of tying Chelsea Hunt (2003-06) for third all-time with 28 career goals. First all-time is Shanna Haines (1986-89) with 42 career goals.  In second is Kellie Bryant (1992-95) who scored 33.  All three players ahead of Jehnings are members of the University of San Francisco Hall of Fame.

• Following Sunday's 3-0 win over Illinois, head coach Jim Millinder improved to .500 at USF.  The eighth year head coach is now 62-62-18 on the Hilltop and 315-176-76 in his 25 year coaching career across several levels.

• In the annual preseason coaches' poll, the Dons were picked to finish sixth with 43 points, BYU and Santa Clara were picked in a tie at first with 77 points each. Senior forward Miciah Madison was picked to the WCC Preseason All-WCC Team, she is the first Don on the preseason list since 2016 when USF's Jessica Nakae and Ali Shaffer were named to the preseason team.
