DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Playing their seventh game of the season against a ranked opponent, USF led No. 8 Stanford early in their matchup last Tuesday, May 10, but the Cardinal ultimately stormed back in the middle innings to grab control and secure the 9-7 win over the Dons in their last time out. Despite the loss, Harris Williams III tallied his tenth multi-RBI game of the season as the senior is now tied for fourth in the conference with 39 total RBI.
- Continuing their strong season at the plate, USF as a team currently leads the WCC in doubles (98), home runs (46) and walks (231) while also ranking in the top five in triples (10, fourth), RBI (264, fourth) and runs (287).
- Heading into Tuesday, the Dons have taken down the Aggies in four of their last seven meetings, which includes two straight victories over UC Davis. Earlier this season, USF grabbed a road victory in Davis, 6-2, on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES:
- In their last time on the diamond, UC Davis took two of three from UC San Diego at home as the Aggies are riding a two-game win streak into the Hilltop. Overall, UC Davis is currently eleventh in the Big West standings as they have not been able to consistently find their groove this season.
- Offensively, Mark Wolbert has impressed at the plate as he currently sits third in the conference in batting average (.372), fourth in OPS (1.003) and ninth in slugging percentage (.545). In Big West play, Wolbert is slashing an impressive .446/.500/.674 while adding two home runs, 11 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases.
- On the mound, left-hander Nate Lemos is projected to make his second start of the campaign as he will also tally his twelfth overall appearance on Tuesday.
