Within the conference, Vasquez was tied for fourth with 29 shots on goal while also tying for seventh in goals and eleventh in total points.
- Looking at the schedule, Thursday's match against the Cardinal will mark San Francisco's second matchup against a Pac-12 opponent this year as the Dons will face off against foes from the Pac-12 in three of their first five matches this fall.
SCOUTING THE CARDINAL:
- Going into the second week of the regular season, Stanford is currently ranked No. 4 according to Top Drawer Soccer and No. 6 according to the United Soccer Coaches poll. After two back to back wins on the road against San Diego and UC Irvine, the Cardinal are looking to continue this momentum on their home field.
- Last time out on Saturday, Aug. 19, the Cardinal fell victim to an early goal by UC Irvine in the first five minutes, but were still able to pull out a win 2-1 over the Anteaters. With their 4-0 win against USD on Aug. 17, the team has recorded six goals on the season, impressively coming from six different players.
- Four of Stanford's six goalscorers from their first week of games also recorded at least one assist across the two matches. Andrea Kitahata was one of the four, recording both a goal and an assist in her first two games back after redshirting her 2022 season. Notably, she had an impressive freshman campaign where she displayed her attacking abilities by recording four goals and six assists in 2021.
- Stanford poses a dangerous front line this season as sophomore returners Jasmine Aikey and teammate Lumi Kostmayer are back up top after strong freshman campaigns. Both players were able to find the back of the net once again in their season opener against San Diego last Thursday.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES:
- UC Davis is on the road for the first time this season after a successful two-game stint at home, which included recording a 5-0 win against Idaho State and a 3-0 win against Sacramento State. As a team, they have recorded 43 shots with eight goals from five different players through two games this year.
- Leading the charge offensively, junior Sam Tristan recorded a brace in their season opener on Aug. 17 and then followed that performance by scoring one more in the next game against Sacramento State. Starting off on a strong foot, the transfer from Fresno State began her first week as an Aggie by recording a commanding six points.
- In their match against Sacramento State, senior Lesile Fregoso broke the UC Davis Division I career points record that was previously set in 2009 after assisting a goal in the 43rd minute of the game.
