Box Score MALIBU, Calif. - The University of San Francisco women's soccer team (5-11-2, 1-7-2 WCC) played its final match of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Dons fell to No. 22 Pepperdine (12-3-5, 6-1-3 WCC) in a 3-0 contest at Tari Frahm Rokus Field.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Pepperdine wasted no time to get on the scoreboard with Tabitha LaParl finding the back of the net in the fifth minute to give a 1-0 lead to the Waves.
- Alex Carpio fired off a shot on goal for the Dons in the 40th minute, but Pepperdine goalkeeper Jillian Medvecky denied the shot and picked up the save.
- Following the initial goal, San Francisco kept the Waves scoreless for the rest of the first half of action as the green and gold went into the break down 1-0.
- Looking to tie the match, Isabella Ayau logged USF's first shot of the second half in the 52nd minute.
- Sealing the victory, Kyra Murphy and Tatum Wynalda notched goals for Pepperdine in the 58th and 78th minutes, respectively, as the Waves secured a 3-0 victory at home on Saturday afternoon.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Four Dons logged shots in the match, including Carpio, Ayau, Lindsey Chau and Sydni Yoshida. Chau finishes the 2024 season with a team-high 38 total shots, the most in a single season for the junior.
- Despite the loss, Kira Ybarra totaled six saves in the cage, marking the fifth match of the season with 5+ saves for the senior.
