SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Closing out its four-game homestand, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (2-2) dropped a 6-1 decision to California (2-1-1) Sunday evening at Negoesco Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Following a corner kick, California opened the scoring at the eight-minute mark, taking the early 1-0 advantage on a San Francisco own goal.
- The Golden Bears tacked on two more first-half tallies as the team held a commanding 3-0 lead after the first 45 minutes of action.
- The Dons cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 53rd minute when Olivia Lukrofka recorded her first goal of the season on a long-range free kick that found the back of the net from over 30 yards out.
- Three unanswered goals from California throughout the rest of the second half solidified the win for the Golden Bears.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- The Dons outshot the Golden Bears 12-11 while putting four on target. Lindsey Chau led the team with four shots, while Lukrofka put two on target.
- Lukrofka scored her fourth-career goal and first of the season as she sent a long-range free kick past the goalkeeper Kelly McManus.
