Dons Earn Top-Five Team Finishes at WCC Championship

SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco men's and women's cross country programs recorded solid outings at the West Coast Conference Championship, securing top-10 finishes Saturday morning at The Course Spokane Valley.

- On the women's side, San Francisco earned a fourth-place team finish with 95 points, one placement higher than last season's team that finished fifth.
- Anna Büttner, in her first-ever Division I postseason event, paced the Dons with a fourth-place finish out of 107 competitors and a season-best time of 20:09.7. Büttner's second top-five finish of the season earned her a place on the WCC All-WCC First Team.
- Jessica Spilsbury and Faustine Chaboche earned All-Conference Second Team honors as Spilsbury placed 14th with a time of 20:46.6 and Chaboche followed suit in 15th at 20:47.4.
- Rounding out the scoring for the green and gold were Kamilla Vanadzina (34th – 21:47.1) and Reese Tucker (36th – 21:52.1).
- Herbie Johnson led the men's team as the Dons placed fifth out of 10 teams. Securing an All-WCC Second Team honor, Johnson placed 12th in the 8k with a time of 23:50.4, nearly 15 seconds short of his personal best of 23:35.6 set at the UC Riverside Invitational earlier this season.
- The next three finishers for the green and gold were Daniel Abramowicz (21st – 24:01.6), Ethan O'Shea (28th – 24:22.9), and Luca Minale (31st – 24:34.6).
