SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco Men's Basketball support staff assistants Jack Rydquist and Ralphie Ferrari were named to the 2026 Silver Waves Media Top Support Staff in College Basketball list, as announced on Monday by the organization.Â
Both Rydquist and Ferrari were instrumental in the Dons accumulating multiple postseason berths, including the 2022 NCAA Tournament and numerous trips to the NIT. They also assisted in the growth and development of current NBA standouts Jonathan Mogbo and Jamaree Bouyea, who became USF's first NBA player since 1995.Â
Rydquist is in his sixth season at USFÂ after joining the program in the fall of 2021. He was elevated to his current role of Director of Strategy & Analytics prior to the 2025-26 season. Since Rydquist's arrival on the Hilltop, USF has amassed a record of 109-61 (.641), through the 2025-26 season. Rydquist has helped San Francisco boast eight All-WCC First Team selections in the past five seasons. Since 2022, Rydquist has overseen USF's analytical efforts for head coach Chris Gerlufsen, influencing key areas such as roster construction, opponent scouting, and in-game strategy. In the 2023 offseason, San Francisco's recruiting class was ranked 25th nationally in transfer activity (via EvanMiya.com). That team went on to earn the program's first Big East win since 2013, its first Big Ten win since 2004, and its first SEC win since 1981. The following season, the Dons finished with 25 victories, tied for the fourth-best win total in USF history.
Ferrari returned to USF in the fall of 2024 for his second stint with the program. He is in his ninth season overall on the USF coaching staff and currently serves as the Director of Basketball Operations / Special Assistant. During Ferrari's time on the Hilltop, the Dons have amassed a record of 162-103 (.611), through the 2025-26 season. He has been instrumental in the development of several All-WCC First Team selections. In his current position, Ferrari oversees the program's day-to-day operations for Gerlufsen while assisting with recruiting, supporting fundraising initiatives, and contributing to scouting reports. He also contributes to game-planning and overall program management.
Rydquist, Ferrari and the Dons opened the 2026-27 campaign last Monday, with a 76-62 win over Radford. The Dons will also host North Dakota State in the second game of their current season-opening five-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
