SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach Molly Goodenbour have announced the addition of transfer guard Jayda Queeley for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
"Jayda is an excellent addition to our program," Goodenbour said. "Her size, athleticism, and versatility will allow her to fit well into our offensive and defensive schemes. She is a thoughtful, intelligent young woman, and I think her best basketball is ahead of her."
Queeley, a sophomore guard from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, joins the program on the Hilltop following a season at Pittsburgh, where she averaged 2.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 17.3 minutes per game.
In her first season of collegiate basketball, Queeley earned a start in 17 of the 31 games she appeared in as a freshman. She recorded a career-best eight points twice during the 2025-26 campaign against Saint Francis and NC State. In the Panthers' 98-46 victory over the Red Flash on December 18, 2025, Queeley totaled eight points on 60 percent (three-for-five) shooting and posted a team-high four assists. Matching her point total in the season finale against the Wolfpack on March 1, 2026, Queeley recorded eight points and secured a career-high eight rebounds in 33 minutes.
A willing passer, Queeley distributed a career-high eight assists against Mount St. Mary's on November 8, 2025, becoming the fourth freshman in program history to record eight or more assists in a game and the first player since the 2016-17 season.
Before her time at Pittsburgh, Queeley competed at Edge School for Athletes in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, for her sophomore and junior seasons before transferring to Royal Crown School in Toronto for her senior season. In her final season of high school basketball, she helped guide Royal Crown School to the WNPA and Grind Session Championships and was named Most Valuable Player of the 2025 All-Canadian game.
Additional honors include U17 First Team All-Star (2024), U15 Second Team All-Star (2022), and helping Team Canada earn silver at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship (2023).
