USF Athletics Honors Four Decades of Tradition at 40th Annual Swanson Memorial Golf Tournament

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The 40th Annual Genesis USF Swanson Memorial Golf Tournament was a resounding success for the University of San Francisco (USF) Athletics department on Monday, May 4.
Hosted by department staff at the world-renowned Olympic Club in San Francisco, the event was a great day of fellowship and celebration of USF Athletics as guests mingled with student-athletes, staff, and coaches. Highlights of the fun-filled day included guests participating on the Par 3 Cliffs Course, stroke play on the Lake Course, as well as many enjoying the legendary burger dogs from Hot Dog Bill's. The event concluded with a first-class buffet and reception inside the clubhouse.
"The 40th Annual Genesis Swanson USF Golf Tournament was a tremendous success thanks to the incredible support of our loyal golfers and Genesis, our valued corporate sponsor," said Frank Allocco, Executive Sr. Associate Athletics Director, External Relations. "It was a beautiful day at the historic Olympic Club, with golfers, sponsors, and USF staff coming together to celebrate and support Dons Athletics."
Overall, the tournament saw 133 total golfers, including 33 foursomes, compete in the tournament. The distribution of awards included the putting contest winner, individual and team winners on both the Lake and Cliffs Course, as well as closest to the pin, longest drive, and most accurate drive.
Prizes at the reception included gift cards from Original Joe's and Sushi Bistro, green Nike warmup jackets, USF swag bags, USF branded golf bags, and 20 other golf courses supporting the event by providing complimentary foursomes at their courses. Kyle Corbin won the Genesis grand prize at the reception, which included tickets to the 2027 Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The tournament raised a significant amount of funds that will be used to elevate each program in their desire to achieve success at the highest level.
