Dons Return to Acrisure Series for Second Straight Year

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Total Sports Consulting announced today that the University of San Francisco (USF) men's basketball program will compete in the 2026 Acrisure Series, hosted at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert from Saturday, Nov. 21 through Thursday, Nov. 26.
The schedule for the tournament is still being finalized as pods and matchups will be announced at a later date. Broadcast details will also be announced at a later date.
Other teams competing in this year's tournament include Arizona State, Colorado, Grand Canyon, LSU, Nevada, Oregon State, Saint Louis, Santa Clara, San José State, SMU, South Carolina, Southern California, Stanford, Tulsa, and Utah State.
For San Francisco, this will mark the second straight year the Dons will compete in the Acrisure Series. Last season, USF faced off against Colorado and Nevada in Palm Desert.
Overall, it marks the sixth straight year in which the program will participate in an MTE (multi-team event) during Thanksgiving week. In 2021, the Dons were crowned champions of the Las Vegas Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., which was followed up by being crowned champions of the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City in 2022.
Head coach Chris Gerlufsen enters his fifth year at the helm and will look to get back to the 20-win mark for the fourth time in five seasons in 2026-27. Notably, the Dons have finished in the top five in the final conference standings in all five seasons under Gerlufsen.
San Francisco will return Aidan Braccia and Ndewedo Newbury from last year's roster in addition to a new wave of incoming talent.
