Zach Zanger

In August of 2018, Zach Zanger was named the first Director of Quantitative Studies for the University of San Francisco Baseball program. In the new role, Zach is responsible for directing all quantitative research and support deliverables for the coaching staff and players. He will lead the Quantitative Studies Team, comprised of undergraduate student analysts studying Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, and Mathematics.Â
Zach holds a Masters Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Regis University. In addition to his role in the Baseball program, Zach has worked as a Fixed Income Analyst on the Credit and Collateral Analytics and Modeling team at the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco. Zach also has experience in Investment Banking as an Analyst at Oliver Investment Banking in Denver.Â
As a player, Zach played three seasons at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose. After high school, Zach got right into coaching at Denver North High School while he was a student at Regis University. While at North, Zach served as an Assistant and was eventually promoted to Manager. In two seasons of managing at Denver North, Zach's teams compiled a 22-10-2 record. Zach has also made coaching stops at Hardtke Baseball Academy and Silicon Valley Glory.
Zach resides in Gilroy, Calif. In his spare time, he enjoys reading or doing computer work in coffee shops.
