Isaac Arnowitz was born in Holland in 1907 and emigrated with his Russian father and Polish mother to the United States in 1920 at the age of 13. He was naturalized in June, 1929 at the age of 22. 

He attended USF in the class of 1934, was a member of the USF Chess Club, and Psi Chi, and captained the Dons Soccer Team. He played with fellow Hall of Famers Sam Wicklow and Harry Hughes. He was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame in 1969.
