Msgr. Bernard Moran was born in July, 1926, in San Francisco, and attended Mission San Jose Dominican Sisters and Marianist Brothers High School, Saint Joseph’s College, and Saint Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, CA. He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on January 24, 1953 in San Francisco, and served for 53 years at many parishes in the Bay Area: Saint Anne's in San Francisco, Saint Paschal's in Oakland, Saint Isadore's in Danville, Saint Joseph's in Berkeley, and Saint Raymond's in Dublin. He was the Director of Catholic Cemeteries for the Archdiocese of Oakland. He served as Chaplain of the Dons baseball team, and was a loyal and committed fan. 
 
In 1973, he was given the title of Monsignor by Pope Paul VI. From 1981 to 2003 he served as pastor of Saint Theresa's in Oakland, and during the 1991 Oakland Hills fire, opened the church hall and facilities to the community.
