Robert Wall was born on April 22, 1932, in San Francisco, and grew up in the Marina district. He attended USF and graduated in 1954, and went to medical school at Saint Louis University. He did his surgical residency at Stanford University. He practiced Family Medicine for 50 years, and was President of the Catholic Physician’s Guild, and President of the Family Practice Department at St. Mary’s Hospital. He taught medicine to students at the University of California, San Francisco, and served as Team Physician to the USF Athletic Teams. He was a physician to multiple religious groups, and volunteered at the Knights of Malta Free Clinic in Oakland. He received the Saint Ignatius Preparatory School Christ the King Award, the 1992 Salesian Boys’ and Girls’ Club Man of the Year Award, and was a USF 2009 Alumnus of the Year. He was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame in 1989.
