Box Score PROVO, Utah - Freshman forward Rochelle Weerackoon scored her second collegiate goal as the San Francisco women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision against No. 5 BYU on Thursday night at South Field.

The Dons (5-6-3, 0-2-0 WCC) played the No. 5 ranked Cougars to a scoreless first half thanks to stellar goalkeeping by senior Megan Connor. The Oak Park, Calif., native recorded a clean sheet in the first half, racking up seven saves. All told, Connor recorded a career-high 12 saves on the night.

The Cougars (12-1-1, 1-0-0 WCC) picked up their first WCC victory of the season, led by Kyleigh Royall's two-goal effort. After both sides fought to a scoreless tie after the first 45 minutes of play, BYU scored 18 seconds into the second half. The Cougars got on the board courtesy of Michele Murphy's sixth goal of the season.

Royall then scored her first goal of the season in the 66th minute to give BYU a 2-0 advantage.

Not to be outdone, Weerackoon connected with Kelsey Moe in the 73rd minute to draw the Dons within one, 2-1. The Pacifica High School product notched her second goal of the year after Moe delivered the assist with a pass just inside the 18-yard line.

The Cougars then put the game out of reach in the 81st minute as Royall, a junior midfielder, scored her second goal of the year and the game.

Connor made her second consecutive start of the season, playing out of her traditional forward position. This marks the first double-digit save effort of her career.

The Dons return to action on Sunday, October 14 as they play host to the Gonzaga Bulldogs at 11:30 a.m. at Negoesco Stadium. Sunday's match will be a "pink" match, as the San Francisco Athletic Department and the West Coast Conference are proud to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
