IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco got off to its best start of the season, opening the first quarter on an 11-5 run in the first four minutes of the contest. Three-point baskets were a crucial part of the run, as Jasmine Gayles, Freja Werth, and Aya Keita contributed from long-range in the opening minutes.
- The Dons continued the onslaught throughout the first 10 minutes of play, scoring 24 points and holding the Bulldogs to just nine points on 28.6 percent (four-for-14) shooting. Werth led the team throughout the first quarter, scoring eight points while shooting a perfect three-for-three from the field and two-for-two from beyond the arc.
- The Dons began the second quarter on a high note, continuing to score to boost the lead to 22, 32-10, at the 7:20 mark of the period. Luana Leite, dos Santos, and Gayles propelled the Dons during the 8-1 run to open the second, with Leite and Gayles combining for six points.
- The Bulldogs cut into the deficit shortly after, trimming the Dons' lead to 12, 37-25 late in the second quarter. Mia Vuksic, however, knocked down a long three-point basket at the 1:41 mark to push the Dons' advantage to 15, 40-25 at the halftime break.
- San Francisco held steady throughout the beginning of the third quarter, trading points with Yale through the midway point of the quarter. Leading by 16, 55-39, at the 5:51 mark of the quarter, the Dons used a 5-0 run to increase their advantage to 20, 60-39.
- The Bulldogs fought back to close the third quarter, cutting the Dons' lead to 11, 61-50.
- Yale continued to trim the deficit to open the final quarter of play, using a 6-3 run to cut it to single-digits, 64-56 at the 6:13 mark.
- The Dons, showing resiliency, fended off the Bulldog's comeback and boosted the lead back to 12, 68-56, partly due to four free throws from Leite, Werth, and dos Santos. The Dons finished the final four minutes of the game on a 7-3 run led by free throws from Gayles and Werth.
- Recording her third double-double of the season, dos Santos led the team in scoring, producing 25 points while collecting 10 rebounds. Dos Santos finished the game shooting 76.9 percent (10-for-13) from the field and connected on her lone attempt from the three-point line.
- Gayles finished with 19 points, reaching double figures for the fifth time in six games. Defensively, Gayles collected four rebounds and tied with Cami Fulcher in steals with two.
- Reaching double figures for the first time in three games, Werth scored a season-high 12 points while shooting 60 percent (three-for-four) from the floor and knocking down all four of her attempts from the free-throw line.
- Vuksic, making her season debut with the team, scored six points in 23 minutes while adding one rebound, two assists, and a steal.
