Coaches Minute | Dons Travel To Southern California - University of San Francisco Athletics

AT A GLANCE:

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's soccer team takes the show on the road this weekend, the Dons travel to Southern California for a pair of non-conference matches against Big West foes, UC Riverside on Friday and UC Irvine on Sunday.

The Dons (3-4-2) wrapped up last weekend going 1-0-1 with a 1-1 tie against No. 14 Oklahoma State before scoring a season-high three goals, all coming in the first half, in the 3-1 win over the visiting Sooners. On the road this season, USF is 1-2, with their lone win coming in the season opener against New Mexico on August 18.

This weekend's road contests will be a final tune-up before WCC action begins the following weekend when USF hosts Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount on September 29 and October 1^st.

Senior forward Sonja Giraud scored three goals over the weekend, she now has 19 for her career, tying her with Meghan Daly (1999-2002) for seventh all-time at USF.
For the season, Giraud now has six goals, a new career-high, also 26^th in the nation and second in the WCC.
Sophomore keeper Olivia Camera is tops in the nation with 65 saves, her 7.22 saves per game is 13^th in the nation.She leads the WCC in both categories.
The three first half goals against Oklahoma on Sunday was a season-high.Giraud tallied two on the afternoon, including a goal that beat the horn to end the first half.
With the tie against No. 14 Oklahoma State, the Dons are 1-1-1 against ranked teams this season.They own a 1-0 win over No. 6 Cal, but fell 8-0 to No. 2 Stanford on the road.
