MSOC | No. 22 Dons Fall In Second Half To No. 5 Denver

DENVER — The No. 22 San Francisco men's soccer team fell in a tough second half to No. 5 Denver on Sunday afternoon. Senior Andre Shinyashiki scored all three of the Pioneers goals to beat the Dons, 3-0 at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
No. 22 San Francisco (2-4-1) had their first shot attempt of the second half at the 49th minute right before Shinyashiki's scored his first out of three goals at the 54th minute. A header that went past Ruben Stuiver from a corner kick landed at the top of the box to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.
Shinyashiki extended Denver's (6-0-1) lead for the second goal of the game at the 66th minute after an assist from teammate Kenny Akamatsu who pushed the ball down the endline that found Shinyashiki inside.
San Francisco's Jake Serpa and Sandro Bradara were the only Dons that had a shot attempt apiece before the Pioneers struck again for the third time as Shinyashiki dribbled through three Don defenders and finished in the back of the net.
San Francisco and Denver competed in a competitive first half as both teams remained scoreless the entire period. The Pioneers outshot the Dons 20-9.
