USF Comes up Short to Nevada in Nugget Classic

RENO, Nev. -- USF women's basketball wrapped up their time at the 2021 Nugget Classic Sunday afternoon falling to the hometown Nevada Wolfpack 73-67 in overtime at Lawlor Events Center.
Ioanna Krimili set a new career-high with 34 points on Sunday as she was feeling it on the offensive end from the jump. Abby Rathbun contributed nine points, nine rebounds and a block while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
The Dons next game will be their second matchup with a Pac-12 school as they will head north to Pullman, Wash. to take on the Washington State Cougars (4-1). The Cougars won the previous meeting between the two schools 91-61 up on the Palouse.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Both teams had issues finding their rhythm offensively in the first half as each team had double digit turnovers with the Dons entering the break up 25-21.
- USF flexed their muscles in the third quarter as they outscored the Wolfpack 23-18 in the period.
- Nevada made a late run in the fourth quarter as they hit a buzzer beater to force the overtime period.
- The Wolfpack won the overtime period 12-6 to come away with the victory on their home floor.
- Krimili set a new career-high in points Sunday night as she poured in 34 points as she was feeling it throughout the game. To go along with the points, Krimili also had four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
- Rathbun had a strong performance as she scored nine points, grabbed nine rebounds four of which were on the offensive glass and blocked a shot while playing a season-high 29 minutes.
- Kennedy Dickie was active on the glass as she grabbed eight rebounds against Nevada while scoring five points as well.
