IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Wasting no time, UCSB got on the board in just the fifth minute of the match to take an early 1-0 lead over the Dons. On the play, midfielder Thaabit Baartman scored his first goal of the fall on an assist from forward Ameyawu Muntari.
- Less than ten minutes after their first goal, the Gauchos extended their lead to two on their second goal of the evening in the thirteenth minute, this time coming from the foot of midfielder Carson Von Steeg. Facing an early deficit, USF trailed, 2-0, after this sequence.
- At the 12:42 mark exactly, the Dons recorded their shot of the contest when Nik Kizarian attempted to get USF on the board. Although they would draw three yellow cards in the half, USF remained within striking distance. Despite a shot from junior Dominic Valdivia to close out the half, the Gauchos remained on top of the Dons, 2-0, at the break.
- In the second half, USF responded with shots on goal to begin their attack, but ultimately could not find the equalizer they needed. In the 73rd minute, UCSB forward Finn Ballard McBride joined the scoring himself by pushing the score to 3-0 in favor of the Gauchos with his second goal of the season.
- Although the Dons would fire one more shot following this goal, USF could never find their true rhythm offensively down the stretch as UCSB hung on to secure their second shutout victory of the season, 3-0.
- Individually, Valdivia led the USF efforts with three total shots on the evening, all of which came on goal.
- For Adimabua, the sophomore remained a focal point of the Dons attack as he tallied two shots overall for the ninth time in USF career.
- Stepping up when called up, both Tamba Di Mattia and Tobias Wangerud recorded their first collegiate shots against UCSB on Friday. For Di Mattia, it was also the first start of his career at USF.
