DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Wrapping up their schedule on the road, the Dons dropped their series last weekend as USF fell at Saint Mary's in three consecutive one-run games. Despite the slide, the Dons are currently tied for sixth in the WCC standings, which would place them in the final spot for the WCC Tournament now that it has expanded to six teams.
  • Heading into Tuesday, Luke Keaschall currently ranks in the top three in the conference in doubles (32, first), stolen bases (29, first), hit by pitch (19, first) and on-base percentage (.463, second). As a team, USF has proven to be dangerous on offense as the Dons also lead the WCC in stolen bases (88), walks (224), doubles (97), home runs (146) and hit by pitch (80).
  • Looking ahead, USF will play their final five games of the regular season in the comfort of their home field as the Dons will host Stanford to begin the stretch followed by their final midweek matchup with UC Davis on May 17. At the end of the month, USF will close out conference play with a weekend series against Pacific from May 20-22.
SCOUTING THE CARDINAL:
  • Rounding into one of the top teams in the country, the Cardinal have climbed to No. 8 in D1 Baseball's weekly NCAA Rankings. Holding a 15-9 record in conference play, Stanford also sits in second place in the Pac-12 standings behind No. 2 Oregon State heading into the week.
  • Doing damage at the plate, Carter Graham currently ranks second in the conference in home runs (15) and RBI (53) while fellow infielder Brett Barrera is fifth in the Pac-12 in batting average (.360).
  • On the mound, projected starting pitcher Drew Dowd is third on the team with five wins as the left-hander is one of only two pitchers on the team with an unblemished record. Overall, the sophomore also sits second on the team in innings (49.2) and strikeouts (48) as he holds a 1.45 WHIP prior to Tuesday's contest.
