SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (18-16) dropped a 12-2 nonconference midweek decision at Sacramento State (16-22) Tuesday evening at John Smith Field.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

San Francisco jumped ahead early, scoring a pair of runs on two passed balls for a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Sacramento State answered with 12 unanswered runs, taking the lead with four runs in the bottom of the first and then adding on in the second, fourth, and fifth frames.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Jordan Lewis, Jackson Nystrom, and Tino Vasell recorded base hits throughout the contest.
Lewis and Nystrom scored the Dons' lone runs in the top of the first inning.
Chris Byhre and Alex Gomez combined for two scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out two batters.

UP NEXT:
San Francisco continues its road trip when it returns to West Coast Conference play when it travels to take on Portland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 17, at Joe Etzel Field.
