Cameron Rowland and Eric Ma Promoted to Pitching Coach and Assistant Pitching Coach

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Head Coach Rob DiToma and the University of San Francisco baseball program have announced the promotions of Cameron Rowland to pitching coach and Eric Ma to assistant pitching coach.
"It is very exciting to me that we are able to promote Cameron to the role of head pitching coach," DiToma said. "Cam did an amazing job of acclimating to our program last year and increased the positive energy around our pitching staff. Our players were very outspoken in wanting him to take the role this summer, and we are fortunate to have him leading our pitchers."
Playing a significant role in the success of the team in 2026, Rowland and Ma helped guide San Francisco to new heights, as the green and gold finished the season with 28 victories, the most by the program since 2022, finished in a tie for third place in the West Coast Conference standings, and appeared in its first WCC Tournament Championship game under the conference's current format.
"Eric is a talented and hard-working coach and is an up-and-comer in the profession," DiToma added. "He has brought a relentless and tireless work ethic since the day he arrived on the Hilltop. It is my privilege to have him on the staff and promote him to a bigger role with our pitchers and our recruiting."
With a handful of veterans and new faces on the mound during the 2026 season, San Francisco compiled a 5.37 team earned run average during conference play, with seven pitchers totaling an ERA under 5.00. The Dons' bullpen, coached by Rowland and Ma, was particularly impressive during WCC contests as Kai Yovanovich, Paul Wheeler, Gino Rossi, Alex Gomez, Quentin Pohorski, Hunter Holzemer, and Nick Bacura combined for a 3.48 earned run average in over 82 innings pitched.
