Hammond was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round of the 2005 MLB Draft and played professionally for 11 seasons in the Brewers and San Francisco Giants organizations, as well as overseas in Japan and Taiwan.
Left Handed Pitcher with over 1400 professional innings pitched in 7 countries.
Pitching coach at Diablo Valley College for the 2015-16 season
Since 2016, Hammond has owned and operated Bay Area Ballplayers, a sports training facility in Moraga, CA, which focuses on athletic development for all athletes from elementary school through professional athletes.

When he's not spending time with family or working with athletes, he's on the golf course or the trails on his mountain bike.
He lives in Orinda, Calif., with his wife Belle, and two daughters, Brielle and Emma.
