8/27/2026 8:30:00 PM | Men's Soccer
OMAHA, Neb. - The University of San Francisco (0-2-1) traded blows in the first half of Thursday's match at Creighton (2-0-1), but the Bluejays used a second-half surge to outlast the Dons, 4-2, at Morrison Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Creighton wasted no time by attacking out of the gates and was successful in finding the back of the net just 1:48 into play when Matthew Reed scored to give Creighton an early 1-0 advantage.
- Making the most of the opportunity off a free kick, David Raphael's initial shot at 25:37 was blocked by the defense, but the junior quickly regained control off the ricochet before sneaking the ball under the feet of the defenders and past Amari Thompson to level the match at 1-1.
- Creighton then broke the tie on Ayden Kokoszka's goal at 46:30, which came off an assist from Jordan Igwenma.
- The Dons drew even once more with a strike from Isaiah Easley at 56:20, his first goal of the season, to make it 2-2. Raphael assisted the goal.
- Less than three minutes later, Raphael was handed a second yellow card following a dust-up at 59:12, which resulted in his ejection. The Dons were forced to play a man down for the remainder of the match.
- The Bluejays continued to fight on their home field and took a 3-2 lead on a goal from Igwenma at 79:40, assisted by Bragg and Carter Derksen.
- Creighton pushed their foot on the gas late, doubling up San Francisco, 4-2, following a goal from Angel Lopez at 84:59. The score would hold for the final five minutes as the Bluejays secured the two-goal victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Easley's goal marked his first of the season and his first goal since Nov. 16, 2024 (missed the 2025 season due to injury). He also recorded three shots in the match, his most since he had four shots against Oregon State on Nov. 3, 2024.
- Raphael led the Dons with five total shots, including four on goal. Overall, seven of his eleven shots have come on goal this season, good for a .636 shot percentage.
- Lucas Jones totaled four saves for the Dons out of 23 total Bluejays shots.
