Dianna Albini came to USF following an outstanding high school career at Elk Grove High School where she received numerous honors, including three All-League and All-City recognitions. She was named Player of the Year for Sacramento and NorCal Player of the Year. At the time, she held the state record for most home runs in a single high school season.

Despite several concussions and a knee injury, Albini was the best pitcher in the history of USF softball and a top pitcher in the NorPac Conference. As a freshman, Albini broke five USF softball records as she led the team in home runs and recorded 60 strikeouts and just seven walks. Scoring an impressive 1.34 earned run average, she was named USF MVP.

As a junior, despite a shoulder injury in 1983, Albini still managed to perform admirably in 10 games. She led the pitching staff in wins, pitching 30 games and 196 innings, recording seven shutouts and 41 strikeouts. Offensively, she led the team in hitting, slugging percentage and total bases. She was again named USF MVP and was named to the NCAA All-Northwest Regional Softball Team. She set the NorPac conference record (7) for most complete games in a conference season.

As a senior in 1985, Albini led the pitching staff with a .522 winning percentage. She also led the team with 42 hits, including seven triples and six doubles. Twice she was selected NorPac Player of the Week and again posted a NorPac record with seven complete conference games.

Albini was a dedicated student and was one of the first members of the Women's Sports Development Committee of the Green and Gold Club. Dianna Albini attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, CA where she received her Juris Doctorate degree in 1990. She has served as a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and was the chair of the Diversity, Community Involvement Women’s Caucus and the Carlene Caldwell Scholarship Committees. She has also served as a CA Administrative Law Judge, and has written extensively on civil litigation and trial practice.
