2014 SUMMER: Went 4-3 for the Kitsap Bluejackets with a 4.52 ERA in 61.2 innings... named to the West Coast League honorable mention team... was teammates with Dons teammates Ryan Matranga and Blake Valley.
2014 SEASON: Made 10 appearances with four starts on the mound... went five innings against No. 2 Cal State Fullerton and allowed two runs on seven hits... picked up his first win at San Jose State after throwing two innings and allowing one run.
PRIOR TO USF (Chabot College): Spent two seasons at Chabot College (Hayward, Calif.) where he was a staple of the pitchign staff... he pitched 58 innings in his freshman campaign and held down a 2.02 ERA... Narahara followed it up with a 3.10 ERA in 95.2 innings and saw his strikeout-to-walk ratio nearly double.
PREP CAREER: Narahara was dominant in his senior season with Castro Valley High School (Castro Valley, Calif.) and posted a 1.61 ERA and struck out 78 batters in 52.1 innings... was named the 2010 Pitcher of the Year and first team All-HAAL his sophomore, junior and senior seasons... pitched nine innings in a complete game win over No. 1 Clayton Valley.
PERSONAL: Matt is the son of Dean and Trudy Narahara. The business administration major has a younger brother, Kyle, and enjoys fishing and boating.
