SUMMER 2016: Made four appearances for the Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League before suffering an injury that ended his summer... registered 15 strikeouts in 20.2 innings and a 2.17 ERA before his injury.
2016 (JUNIOR): Became the Dons' Sunday starter after making his first four appearances out of the bullpen... went a team-best 7-5 overall with a 3.74 ERA... was second on the team with 50 strikeouts in 89.0 innings... tossed the Dons' only complete game of the season against San Diego (Apr. 24), allowing just two runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out five... recorded quality starts in seven of his 12 starts... ranked 5th in the WCC with a .234 batting avg. against and 4th with a .225 avg. against in WCC games alone... his 60.2 innings pitched in WCC contests was the 7th-most in the conference... his five wins in conference play was tied for 5th... tallied a season-best six strikeouts over 7.2 innings in a win over Gonzaga (Apr. 17)... went eight shutout innings in a victory at Pepperdine (Apr. 3), scattering four hits while striking out three... became the first USF starter to post consecutive wins after earning victories at Oregon State (Mar. 13) and at Santa Clara (Mar. 20)... went seven innings at Santa Clara where he allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out four... picked up his first win as a Don at No. 4 Oregon State (Mar. 13), throwing 6.1 scoreless innings, scattering six hits while walking two in a combined shutout of the Beavers (w/ Brock Larson and Frank Waliczek)... earned a no-decision in his first-career start at Cal Poly (Mar. 6), throwing 4.2 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits while walking three and striking out five.... took his first loss of the season at Cal Poly (Mar. 4) after throwing one-third of an inning in the ninth, allowing two runs on four hits while walking one... went 3.2 innings out of the bullpen at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 21) in his USF debut, surrendering four runs on three hits while walking four and striking out four... won the team's Jonnie Knoble Top Newcomer Award and the Jesse Foppert Fireman of the Year as the team's pitcher of the year.
SUMMER 2015: Played with the Springfield Sliders of the Prospect League... named a Prospect League all-star and pitcher of the week on one occasion... posted a 3.29 ERA in 57.1 innings... started nine games with a 1-2 record... tallied 40 strikeouts and one complete game shutout.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Cuesta College... named first team All-Western State Conference relief pitcher in 2015... went 3-2 as a sophomore with seven saves in 41.1 innings pitched... posted a 2.18 ERA with 31 strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Dakota Ridge High School... played club ball with the Colorado Khaos from 2011-2013, where he was coached by Scott Hormann.
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 17, 1993 in Denver, Colo…. mother is Connie Deyoanna-Marquez and step-father is John Marquez... majoring in advertising... aspires to a professional baseball career following USF... his father, Scott Kannenberg, played baseball at San Diego State (1982-1985), and went on to play at the AA and AAA levels of the California Angels organization until 1989.
