2012 ALL-WEST COAST CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION
2012 SEASON: Clear was arguably the most consistent hitter for USF in 2012... ranked second on the team in doubles (14), on-base percentage (.390), and hit by pitch (16)... finished third on the team with a .303 batting average and ranked 13th in the conference in hits with 60... strung together two separate 10-game hitting streaks and finished second on the team with 17 multi-hit games.
2011 SEASON: Totaled the second-highest batting average (.325) on the team in 38 games — 31 as the starting shortstop… sustained a hand injury during the second game of the WCC season and missed three weeks… totaled 10 multiple game hits, including four games with three hits, along with four multiple-RBI games… posted a 2-for-4 day at UCLA (2/20) and then at Cal State Bakersfield (2/21) the next day as well… totaled two hits, two RBIs, a double and a sacrifice fly against UC Davis (2/27)… put together a 2-for-3 day against New Mexico State (3/4) with two RBIs, two runs scored and was hit by a pitch… posted his first three-hit game of the season against New Mexico State (3/5)… went 2-for-4 with a double against Sacramento State (3/7)… turned in a 3-for-5 day with a double at Arizona (3/21)… totaled three hits, two runs, a stolen base and was hit by a pitch at Pacific (3/25)… notched his first triple of the season at Fresno State (4/1) and then hit his first home run of the season there two days later (4/3) during a game in which he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
2010 SEASON: Played in 17 games and started five… totaled five RBI and three walks… went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a homerun against BYU (3/31)… notched an RBI single at New Mexico (4/21)… went 1-for-2 against San Diego (5/1).
2009 SEASON: Played in 12 games and started two as a freshman... batted .222 with two hits and three runs scored... earned first collegiate hit at University of Texas - San Antonio (2/21)... second hit came versus Texas Tech at the Palm Springs Tournament (3/6)... also scored a run in that game... scored second run vs. Oklahoma State in same tournament (3/7)... scored final run at New Mexico State (3/20).
2008 SEASON: Redshirt
PREP CAREER: Played three years of varsity baseball at Marin Catholic... Named player of the year his senior year with a .410 batting average... batted .450 his junior year and .350 his freshman year.
PERSONAL: Born in August of 1989 in Miami, FL... son of John and Pam Clear... nickname is AC... goal for the season is to understand his role better... chose USF for the good atmosphere on the team and to be close to home... thinks the best thing about being a student-athlete is a good taste of both worlds... would like to be Jay-Z for a day... favorite quote is "Don't be mean to the nerds in high school, you'll be working for them in the future"... best advice he could give to youngsters is to be respectful of your elders... favorite movie is Out Cold... favorite book is Into the Air... favorite musical artist is Metallica... favorite food is Country fried steak... hobbies include ping-pong... majoring in Communications Studies.
