2012 ALL-WEST COAST CONFERENCE

2012 SEASON: Capped an incredible four-year career on The Hilltop by hitting .302 and leading the team in doubles (15), RBI (44), total bases (93), and put outs (439)... ended the season on a 12-game hitting streak, including six multi-hit games... In the month of May, hit .396 (19-for-48) with 15 RBI, including his first career grand slam on May 26 against Saint Mary's (5/26)... Balog's 44 RBI ranked fifth in the WCC, while his 15 doubles finished sixth, and his .460 slugging percentage ranked 10th... registered 17 multi-hit games (14 two-hit games, two three-hit games, and one four-hit game)... 12-game hitting streak was longest of the season for any Don... recorded 12 multi-RBI games, good for first on the team... hit .419 (26-for-62) againsit lefties and hit .333 (29-for-87) with runners in scoring position.

2011 SEASON: Started every game for the Dons this season at first base… led the team in multiple RBI games with 11 and notched multiple hits in 16 games… put together a .993 fielding percentage… set the single-season school record for put outs with 502… second on the team in RBIs (34)… hit .274 with 17 extra-base hits, 16 walks and six sacrifice flies… first multiple hit day came at Lamar (3/3), where he went 3-for-5 with two RBI… hit two doubles against Long Beach State (3/12)… totaled two hits, two RBIs and a double against San Jose State (3/15)… added two RBIs and two hits against California (3/16)… went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a double at Portland (4/16)… was 2-for-4 with a walk and his first home run of the season at Portland (4/17)… smashed two RBIs in each of this first three at bats against Santa Clara (4/23) to finish with six RBIs, two doubles and a walk… went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk against Loyola Marymount (4/29)… totaled two hits, two runs, two RBIs and a home run at San Diego (5/6)… went 2-for-4 against Cal State Bakersfield (5/24)… finished the day 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a home run and a walk at Gonzaga (5/27)… hit his second home run of the series against Gonzaga (5/29)… went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to led the Dons to a 3-0 win against No. 12 UCLA in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional (6/3).

2010 SUMMER: Played for the Lowell All-Americans in the New England Collegiate Baseball League and totaled a .286 batting average with a 0.98 fielding percentage.

2010 SEASON: Played in 53 games and started 47… totaled 29 RBI, a team-high 20 doubles, 17 walks, six homeruns and was hit by a pitch a team-high of nine times… hit a three-run homerun at Cal-Poly (2/26)… went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a homerun against Texas San Antonio (3/5)… was a perfect 3-for-3 at University of Alabama-Birmingham with two doubles, an RBI and a walk (3/13)… notched two hits, including a double, with an RBI against UC Riverside (3/21)… went 2-for-4 at UC Santa Barbara (3/28)… was a perfect 3-for-3 against BYU with two doubles and a homerun (3/31)… blasted two homeruns and a double on 3-for-3 hitting with four RBI in addition to being hit by a pitch against Gonzaga (4/10)… went 2-for-4 with an RBI at UC Davis (4/13)… was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI against Saint Mary’s (4/16)… totaled three triples and two RBI on a 4-for-5 performance at Loyola Marymount (4/24)… was a perfect 2-for-2 with two walks at Loyola Marymount (4/25)… went 3-for-5 with two doubles at Santa Clara (5/9)… hit two doubles against Portland (5/14)… notched two hits at California (5/18).
2009 SEASON: Started 28 and played in 38 games as a freshman... finished the season batting .336 (36-for-107) with seven doubles, one triple, three homeruns, 21 RBI, 15 runs scored, and one stolen base... began the season with a nine game hit streak (3/8-3/24) batting .444... doubled in his collegiate debut versus Gonzaga in the Palm Springs Tournament (3/8)... doubled and drove in a run at Washington (3/15)... homered on a 2-for-5 day at New Mexico State (3/20)... had three hits and drove in two the next day (3/21)... doubled versus Gonzaga (3/27)... had two hits including a double in the final game of the series against GU (3/29)... went 2-for-3 at Sacramento State (4/14)... stole first career base against Santa Clara (4/19)... homered, doubled, and drove in three versus Pepperdine (4/24)... homered and doubled again on a 3-for-5 day at then No. 13 Cal Poly (5/2)... finished the series with Cal Poly (5/2-4) batting .583 (7-for-12) with a double, a homerun, and four RBI... scored twice on a 2-for-5 day at Portland (5/15)... went 2-for-4 with a double in last game at Portland (5/17).

PREP CAREER: Batted .368 as a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School... had 10 doubles, four homeruns, and batted in 26... earned First Team All-WCAL and Second Team All-CCS.

PERSONAL: Born in October of 1989 in Los Gatos, CA... son of Steven and Barbara Balog... cousin Jason Haniger is a catcher for Georgia Tech... dad played baseball at San Diego State... goal for the season is to make it to a regional... chose USF because of the coaches and the city... thinks the best thing about being a student athlete is the relationships you make... likes the diversity in San Francisco... lists his grandmother, Patrina, as the most impressive person he has met... favorite movie is Step Brothers... favorite book is The Alchemist... favorite musical artist is Toby Keith... favorite food is Sushi... hobbies include weight lifting... majoring in Business Marketing.
