Second-straight WCC Champions

The University of San Francisco Women's Basketball Team concluded their regular 1995-1996 season  at 24-8, won its second consecutive WCC Champion Title, and received a second invitation to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lady Dons upset both Duke and Florida in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet Sixteen to face Connecticut. The Dons however lost to the returning NCAA Champion Huskies, and ended their postseason, finishing 16th in the final USA Today and CNN Coaches’ Poll. Squad member Brittney Lindhe won the Anne Dolan Award, the highest award given to any female athlete. Teammate Valerie shot 59% from the field and was 16th in the nation, first in rebounds and second in blocked shots at USF. WCC All-Academic Honorable Mentions were given to Renee Demirdjian and to Jamie Shadian for her 5.0 APG, highest in the league.
